Frequently Asked Questions
Is mediation mandatory for employment claims in Türkiye?
Yes. For employee and employer claims based on law or employment contracts, including compensation and reinstatement, mediation before filing suit is required. Claims from workplace accidents and occupational diseases are excluded.
How long must someone work to be entitled to severance pay?
At least one year with the same employer, and the contract must end in one of the ways listed by law, mainly termination by the employer without just cause or by the employee for just cause.
